Hirak figure Nasser Zafzafi goes on hunger strike

Hirak figure Nasser Zafzafi, held at a Casablanca local prison, has started a hunger strike, his lawyer Naima el Gallaf revealed in a Facebook statement on Wednesday.

Since his arrest, Zafzafi has been 《subjected to torture and inhumane treatment》, she wrote.

In a hearing held yesterday in Casablanca, Nasser Zafzafi accused the court of not respecting his right for a fair trial, said Mohamed Aghnaj, a member of the Hirak defense committee.

For the record, Nasser Zafzafi was arrested on May the 29th, 2017 for interrupting a Friday sermon at a local mosque in Al Hoceima. He was later accused of 《threatening national security》. He was transported to Casablanca and held in prison since then.
