Bayazid Bourequat, one of Bourequat brothers known for being a Tazmamart inmate, died Wednesday morning in Paris. The information was announced on social media by the Manouzi family, whose son was one of Hassan II's opponents the three brothers met in prison.
Bayazid Bourequat is one of the PF3 (a detention center) survivors in Rabat, where he was secretly imprisoned with his two brothers, Ali and Midhat, following their kidnapping in July 1973, the same source said. «In July 1975, they tried to escape PF3 with Houcine El Manouzi and four other detainees, but they were taken back the next day», adds the Manouzi family.
From 1975 to 1980, the Bourequat brothers were secretly detained in Rabat and then transferred in 1981 to the Tazmamart prison. After their release in 1991, they moved to France.
