FIFA Task force has validated Morocco's bid to host the 2026 World Cup, announced Friday former Sports and Youth minister Moncef Belkhayat.
The Kingdom will now be able to get to the voting phase scheduled for June 13 in Russia. More than 200 football federations will have to choose between Morocco's bid and the joint one presented by the USA, Canada and Mexico.
For the record, representatives of the two bidding teams attended a meeting on Wednesday in Zurich with the FIFA Task force reported Associated Presa last week.
This is the fifth bid that Morocco is presenting to organize the FIFA World Cup.
