Morocco bid chairman Moulay Hafid Elalamy said Saturday, 2nd of June, that he is positive about the Kingdom's chances to host the 2026 World Cup.

«Morocco is positioning itself in front of great nations», he told AFP and 2M.ma.

«Morocco is now one of the few countries that can comply with FIFA's requirements», he said. «The support the Moroccan bid has managed to get was beyond what we have expected», he concluded.

To strengthen our chances, the Kingdom presented its bid on behalf of «the African continent», stressing on its stability, geographical location, and time zone when compared to North America.

The Kingdom will now be able to get to the voting phase scheduled for June 13 in Russia. More than 200 football federations will have to choose between Morocco's bid and the joint one presented by the USA, Canada and Mexico.

This is the fifth bid that Morocco is presenting to organize the FIFA World Cup.
