The projects presented by the 2026 World Cup Committee to host the international tournament will be fulfilled, said Morocco bid Chairman Moulay Hafid Elalamy Wednesday in Moscow.

According to a communiqué issued after FIFA revealed the voting results, the Kingdom is planning to honor its promises. «We have managed this candidacy in a spirit of fair play and we will continue on our path with the same spirit», said Elalamy.

On the other hand, Moroccan Royal Football Federation President Fouzi Lekjaa said that «Morocco is honored to have presented a solid bid that puts football first».

For the record, the United States, Canada and Mexico will co-host the 2026 World Cup after they managed to gather 134 votes at a FIFA vote held Wednesday, 13th of June, in Moscow. Morocco lost its dream of hosting the international tournament after it received only 65 votes.

In its communiqué the Morocco bid committee warmly thanked the federations that voted for its candidacy.
