The services of the Wilaya of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region denied, on Monday, erroneous information according to which 45 individuals from sub-Saharan Africa died Sunday off Larache (north).

The same source added that a migrant boat, carrying 33 passengers, capsized off Larache and all persons on board were rescued.

In a clarification, the services of the Wilaya of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region said that certain websites, quoting a news agency, reported false information indicating that the bodies of 45 migrants from sub-Saharan Africa, who perished at an attempt of illegal immigration, were recovered on Sunday off the province of Larache.

According to the same source, five of the migrants were transferred to the Larache provincial hospital to receive the necessary care, noting that two individuals have already left the hospital, while the other three, including one pregnant woman, remain under medical observation and their health is in good condition.
