Algeria’s leading electricity and gas company Sonelgaz has signed an agreement with Morocco’s National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) and Tunisia’s Electricity and Gas Company (STEG) to supply the latter with electricity, reports Algerian press agency, quoting Sonelgaz’ CEO Mohamed Arkab.
The agreement was concluded last Friday in Tunisia and is aiming to supply the country with 200 to 300 Megawatts (MW).
Morocco and Algeria will enable Tunisia to meet its energy demands, said Arkab in a press conference held after a meeting that brought the three companies together.
During the same event, Arkab said that Algeria is collaborating with Morocco to help Libya produce electricity.
