Morocco sets new measures for entering vehicles registered abroad

Marhaba Operation to introduce new measures to improve collection of taxes and customs duties. These flexible procedures cover vehicles registered outside the Kingdom and owned by Moroccans living abroad.

«From now on, vehicles registered abroad, placed under the temporary admission regime, can be driven in Morocco by the spouse or by a descendant (also resident abroad), of the owner».

Furthermore, «a vehicle admitted temporarily can be driven by a resident in Morocco only under one condition, the importer holding the declaration of temporary admission, has to be  among the passengers» adds teh same source.

In order to make border crossing more fluid, the Moroccan customs sign up online for the temporary admission of vehicles before their departure to Morocco possible. This procedure can be done on the website www.douane.gov.ma.
