Moroccan international player Amine Harit has been given a suspended four-month jail sentence, for being involved in a fatal car accident that killed a pedestrian in Marrakech, reports German online newspaper Spiegel Online on Wednesday, quoting Moroccan media.

The Schalke 04 midfielder was also fined 8,600 dirhams. He has returned to Germany to join his club after the deadly accident in Marrakech.

Sources close to the file said, earlier this month, that the World Cup player «offered the victim’s family a fairly significant amount of money».

For the record, the 21-year-old footballer was behind the wheel when his car hit a pedestrian and killed him, Saturday 30th of June, in Marrakech. An investigation was initiated by the Marrakech police to determine the circumstance surrounding the accident.
