Moroccan athletes win several medals at the African Senior Athletics Championships

Moroccan athletes participating in the 21st edition of the African Senior Athletics Championships (ASAC) have won medals in different sport disciplines during the competition.

On the ladies’ side, Soukaina Zakour and Lamia Lhabz both won medals at the championship that was held from August 1^stto the 5^thin Asaba (Nigeria) last Friday and Saturday. Zakour won the gold medal in hammer throw with a 68.28m throw from the first try. As for Lhabz, the athlete won a silver medal for finishing the 400-meter hurdles in 56: 66sec.

On the men’s side, Moroccan athlete Sofiane El Bakkali, also vice-world champion, won a silver medal in the men's 3,000 m steeplechase.

The African Senior Athletics Championship qualifies for the Continental (IAAF) Cup scheduled for the 8^th and 9^thof September 2019 in Ostrava (Czech Republic) will bring together four continental teams from Africa, America, Europe and Asia.
