President of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sports for All (FRMSPT), Nezha Bidouane has been named by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), captain of the African squad at the 2018 Continental Cup that will be held from September 8th to the 9th in Ostrava (Czech Republic).
The retired Moroccan track and field hurdler who specialized in the 400 meters hurdles was one of the four ambassadors chosen in November 2017 by the IAAF to represent the continents participating in the African championship in Asaba. She was also chosen in 1998 during the World Year of Athletics, and in 2005 for the World Championships held in Marrakech.
The African women and men team participating in the cup, includes four Moroccan athletes namely Soukaina Zakour, the 3000 m steeplechase vice-world champion and African vice-champion, Soufiane El Bakkali as well as silver medalists in the 1,500 and 400m hurdles, Rabab Arafi and Lamiae Elhabz.
Since 1977, the Continental Cup has brought together four selections of both sexes representing the four continents (Americas, Africa, Asia-Oceania and Europe).
