Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred, facing charges for alleged sexual assault, was arrested this weekend in Saint-Tropez (France) for allegedly raping a woman, reports Agence France Presse.

The pop star is currently held in custody at the Saint-Tropez police station, after a woman lodged a complaint, accusing him of «raping» her, says the same source citing the prosecutor’s office in Draguignan.

It is not the first time that Lamjarred receives similar accusations. In October 2016, the singer was arrested in Paris for allegedly «raping» and sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman.

Awaiting trial, Saad Lamjarred stayed in prison until April 2017, when he was released by the Paris Court of Appeal on the condition of wearing an electronic bracelet. In March, he was authorized to travel to Morocco to promote his song «Ghazali Ghazali».

For the record, Lamjarred was indicted for rape on April 11 after a French-Moroccan woman claimed that he has beaten her in Casablanca in 2015. He faces the same charges in the United States, following a case that dates back to 2010.
