Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred was charged with «rape», Tuesday 28th of August, in France. The decision was taken after the 33-year-old star appeared before the prosecutor’s office in Draguignan, says Le Figaro.
Now, Lamjarred is accused of raping a French woman, who lodged a complaint against him the weekend in Saint-Tropez.
He was arrested on Sunday morning and held in custody at the Saint-Tropez's police station. His custody was extended, Monday, to 24 additional hours.
According to Nice Matin, the alleged victim is believed to be a 28-year-old seasonal worker, who met Lamjarred in Ermitage hotel, where the incident took place.
It is not the first time that Lamjarred faces similar accusations. In October 2016, the singer was arrested in Paris for allegedly «raping» and sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman.
Awaiting trial, Saad Lamjarred stayed in prison until April 2017, when he was released by the Paris Court of Appeal on the condition of wearing an electronic bracelet. In March, he was authorized to travel to Morocco to promote his song «Ghazali Ghazali».
For the record, Lamjarred was indicted for rape on April 11 after a French-Moroccan woman claimed that he has beaten her in Casablanca in 2015. He faces the same charges in the United States, following a case that dates back to 2010.
