The liberties and detention judge in Draguignan (France) decided on Tuesday night to place Moroccan singer Saad Lamjarred under judicial supervision, while the prosecutor's office demanded that he remains in custody, says Agence France Press.

The prosecutor's office can appeal the decision taken against Lamjarred who is already involved in two other rape cases.

Saad Lamjarred, 33, was once again facing «rape» charges in France, announced the prosecutor's office the same day, after a woman lodged a complaint, Sunday morning, accusing him of allegedly «raping» her. He was arrested on Sunday and held in custody for two days.

«The singer will be prohibited from leaving France and get in touch with the victim and the witnesses as well», said the Draguignan prosecutor's office. He should also «hand his passport over to the authorities», added the same source.

It is not the first time that Lamjarred faces similar accusations. In October 2016, the singer was arrested in Paris for allegedly «raping» and sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman.

Awaiting trial, Saad Lamjarred stayed in prison until April 2017, when he was released by the Paris Court of Appeal on the condition of wearing an electronic bracelet. In March, he was authorized to travel to Morocco to promote his song «Ghazali Ghazali».

For the record, Lamjarred was indicted for rape on April 11 after a French-Moroccan woman claimed that he has beaten her in Casablanca in 2015. He faces the same charges in the United States, following a case that dates back to 2010.
