In July, French media revealed that Alexandre Benalla, the former personal guard of President Emmanuel Macron who was filmed beating protesters on May the 1st, has changed his Arabic name. BFM TV confirmed the information in an investigation, published on Tuesday, 11th of September.

The French 24-hour rolling news channel revealed that the controversial security agent, who used to be called Maroine Benalla before changing his first name, was born in September the 8th, 1991. His father, Abderrazak, who is a doctor in chemistry, was born «in Douar Khellad, in the province of Oujdad (Morocco)», says the same source.

«His violent father tried to kidnap him three times to take him home with him» after Alexander's parents split up. In order to flee the father, the mother changed his name, from Maroine to Alexandre, added the same source.

RTL said on Wednesday that Benalla «plans to settle down in Morocco» to «set up his own security company». «Since he was ousted by the Elysee Palce, he has visited Rabat a few times to meet the authorities and finalize his project», said the same source.
