Morocco has reiterated the importance of continuing efforts at various levels to achieve a just and rapid solution to the Palestinian question, said secretary of State to the minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mounia Boucetta, during the 150th session of the Council of the Arab League at the level of Foreign Ministers, held Tuesday in Cairo.

The Palestinian question, which is at the heart of Arab action, constitutes a real challenge to the common Arab project and places the Arab and Islamic States as well as the stakeholders of the international community in front of their responsibility to unblock the current impasse, she said.

Boucetta also stressed the need to work permanently to achieve a realistic and just political solution to the Palestinian cause, based on international and Arab standards, to put an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian land and enable the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their independent State within the framework of the two-State solution.

Previously, the Moroccan official participated in a special session of Arab Foreign ministers to discuss the crisis of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) after the United States suspended its contributions.

The 150th session of the Council of Arab Foreign ministers, chaired by Sudan, examines several issues, including the Palestinian question, UNRWA, the situation in Libya, Yemen and Syria as well as the Arab-European dialogue.
