Morocco tops African countries making progress in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, said the 2018 report on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which was recently released by the Sustainable Development Goals Center for Africa (SDGC/A), based in Kigali.
According to the report, entitled "Africa SDG Index and Dashboards 2018 Report", the Kingdom of Morocco leads the African continent with a 66.1% achievement rate of objectives, that is 12 years before the deadline set by the United Nations.
Rwanda, where the SDGCA is headquartered, ranks 11th (out of 51) with a 57.9% achievement rate of the global goals.
SDGCA Director Dr. Belay Begashaw said the Report needs to be constantly discussed to better help make changes and better plan for the future in order to achieve the SDGs in all sectors.
The Report analyzed aspects of nutrition, health, housing, education, ICTs and inequalities.
