U.S. representative Joe Wilson (Republican), alongside Carlos Curbelo from the same party and Democrat Gerry Connolly submitted a resolution that supports Morocco in its dispute with Iran. The initiative calls the Donald Trump administration to back the autonomy plan in Western Sahara.

The resolution signed by senators and members of the U.S. House of Representatives urges the Congress to «condemn any action by the Government of Iran or by Hezbollah that promotes instability in North Africa».

They have also called MPs to support «the Kingdom of Morocco as (it is the US’) oldest ally and as a partner in combating terrorism and promoting stability and prosperity in North Africa».

On November the 6th, the United States will host mid-term elections. These midterm elections will take place in the middle of Republican President Donald Trump's first term. All 435 seats in the United States House of Representatives and 35 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate will be contested.
