The competition was marked by the participation of teams representing other diplomatic corps (Canada, Europe, United States). Bill Mccrimmon, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Canadian Embassy in Morocco, told MAP that activities like this one enhance diplomatic relations. «When we play sports, we have more opportunities to meet people and discover people from other countries and cultures», he said.

Meanwhile, the president of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Ice Hockey, Khalid Mrini, said that after the great success of the first edition, «we have decided to make of this tournament an annual event that brings together fans of this sport». To promote ice hockey in Morocco, he said, «we are inviting associations and schools to introduce young people and make them more aware of the rules of the Canadian game».
