Moroccan journalist Taoufik Bouachrine sentenced to 12 years in prison

Akhbar Al-yaoum columist and publisher Taoufik Bouachrine was sentenced to 12 years in prison saturday, 10th of November, by the ciriminal chamber of the casablanca Appeal court.

Arrested on the 23rd of February, the journalist was accused of several heavy criminal charges.

Three days after his arrest, the attorney general at the same court decided to prosecute Bouachrine for human trafficking, exploiting and taking advantage of unfortunate people, using power to sexually exploit, blackmail, rape, and sexually assault others, inciting people to prostitute and recording and filming these acts.

For the record, 8 women have filed a complaint against the journalist, insisting that they were subjected to these offences.
