After four delegations from Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania and the Polisario attended a round table, in Geneva, convened by the UN Envoy to Western Sahara, the Front issued a communiqué calling for a «rapid progress towards a solution».
The Front stressed that Khatri Addouh, who was heading the delegation sent by the Polisario, spoke on behalf of the «the Saharawi people».
The Polisario reiterated its «commitment to pursuing a just, lasting and mutually-agreed political solution».
Moreover, it «applauded the efforts of the PESG, His Excellency Mr Horst Kohler», adding it supports his «efforts to resume the political process on Western Sahara to achieve a peaceful, just, lasting and mutually-agreed solution».
However, the Polisario is «deeply concerned by the EU Commission's sustained, illegal and uncompromising efforts to secure trade deals with Morocco which include the territory of Western Sahara in violation of the rulings of the European Court of Justice».
«Such an approach, which clearly preempts and undermines the outcome of negotiations, defies logic», added the same source.
