After discovering the bodies of two Scandinavian tourists in the region of Chamharouch (near Imlil, a small town in Al Haouz province), the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) announced Tuesday, December the 18th, that a suspect was arrested.
The man is suspected of killing the two women who were found dead with cuts to their necks, reported a BCIJ communiqué sent this morning to Yabiladi.
The investigation launched yesterday helped to arrest the suspect in Marrakech. He is currently in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office.
For the record, the inhabitants of Imlil, in the High Atlas mountain range, near North Africa's highest peak, Mount Toubkal, woke up Monday to the incident which took the lives of a Danish woman and her Norwegian friend.
According to EFE, the bodies of the two tourists were found inside their tent by French mountaineers who called the police afterwards.
