Imlil killings : Authorities arrest a Swiss-Spanish suspect

The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ) arrested on Saturday, December the 29th, a Swiss national who has a Spanish citizenship and lives in Morocco. The man is suspected of being involved in the killing of the two Scandinavian tourists brutally murdered in Imlil.

The arrest was announced by MAP news agency, which confirmed information reported earlier this day by TelQuel.

19 people, allegedly linked to the Imlil killings, have been arrested so far by the authorities, as announced by BCIJ head Abdelhak Khiam. According to AFP, the first four suspects have pledged allegiance to ISIS in a video that was shared online and later authenticated by the police.

«15 people among the suspects arrested must be presented on December the 30th before the prosecutor in Salé», TelQuel said.

For the record, on December the 17th Danish and Norwegian backpackers were found dead near their tent. The two women came to Morocco to climb Mount Toubkal.
