The public prosecutor at Rabat Appeal Court presented on Thursday to the examining magistrate seven new suspects, including a Swiss-Spanish national as part of the investigation on the killing on Dec. 17 of two foreign tourists near Marrakesh (Imlil commune).

The public prosecutor said in a statement that the seven new suspects were brought to the examining magistrate in conformity with the additional petition to question them about terrorist acts, including forming a gang to prepare and commit terrorist acts, the premeditated help to perpetrators of terrorist acts and training people to join a terrorist organization.

The public prosecutor also demanded that the examining magistrate orders that these people be remanded in custody. The examining magistrate is expected to give this Thursday a verdict on the additional petition, the same source added.

The public prosecutor at Rabat Appeal Court had presented last Sunday to the examining magistrate in charge of terrorism affairs 15 people suspected of having links to the killing of the two foreign tourists, a Danish and a Norwegian, in the commune of Imlil.
