On Monday, January the 7th, students and lecturers at the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) observed a two-minute silence to remember the two tourists Louisa and Maren who were brutally murdered in December 2018 in Morocco, France-Presse (AFP) reported.
«It is very difficult for all of us, especially for the student who lived and studied with them», said USN’s faculty director. At the university «we spoke to students about it not to make them understand what is incomprehensible but to allow them to comment on what happened», the same source added.
Indeed, Louise and Maren had been studying «outdoor activities, nature and cultural guidance» at a Norwegian college in a village called Bo.
The two young women had gone backpacking for a month-long Christmas holiday, December, in Morocco. Mount Toubkal, North Africa’s highest peak, was on their travel checklist and they headed to the city of Marrakech for that.
The Scandinavian alpinists were found dead near their tent, Monday December the 17th, with cuts to their necks, a terror act that led to the arrest to more than 18 people.
