The Vatican has released the official logo of the Pope’s visit to Morocco, reported Vatican News on Monday January the 7th.

«Servant of Hope» is the theme of the Pope’s visit to the Kingdom, scheduled for March the 30th and 31st. During his trip to Morocco, Pope Francis will be visiting the cities of Rabat and Casablanca in response to the invitation of King Mohammed VI.

The chosen logo was picked from about 50 entries in a competition, the same source added, indicating that a «cross and a crescent in the logo are symbols of Christianity and Islam which highlight the interreligious relations between Christians and Muslims».

According to Vatican News, the logo «has the colors of the two countries : green and red for Morocco, yellow and white for the Vatican».

The motto, Servant of Hope, was inspired by the Pope’s title : servant of god and Morocco is written in Arabic in the logo to honor the language of the country.

Indeed, the Vatican announced in November that Pope Francis is expected to pay the North African Kingdom in March 2019.

«Invited by King Mohammed VI and bishops, His Holiness Pope Francis will visit Morocco for an apostolic trip in March», said the Holy See in a statement released in November, 2018.
