Beji Caid Essebsi invites King Mohammed VI to the next Arab League Summit

Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita received, Thursday in Rabat, secretary of state for foreign affairs Sabri Bachtobji, emissary of Tunisian president Beji Caid Essebsi, carrying a message for King Mohammed VI.

In a statement to the press after the meeting, Bachtobji said that he handed Bourita a message from the President of the Tunisian Republic sent to King Mohammed VI to attend the Arab League Summit scheduled late March in Tunis.

He added that the talks with Bourita touched on bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them following the implementation of decisions taken at the 19th Moroccan-Tunisian Joint Commission, held in June 2017.

«Several ideas, projects and initiatives from both sides are under way», said Bachtobji, noting that the long-standing and solid bilateral relations herald a bright future that matches the aspirations of both countries.

The Tunisian official also said that the next Arab Summit will be held against the backdrop of a number of issues and challenges facing Arab countries and peoples.
