At the age of 19, the queer youtuber Bilal Hassani will represent France for the song contest hosted by Eurovision, after winning on Saturday the «Destination Eurovision» show broadcasted on France 2.

In May, he will compete with his song «Roi». Thanks to this one, he is already at the top of the ranking by the votes of the public.

«Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you ... You do not realize the dream that you helped me achieve», he said.

Indeed, the singer and songwriter was at the top of the ranking thanks to the votes of viewers, even if he came fifth after the vote of the international jury.

AFP pointed out that the song that made this success possible was co-written by Madame Monsieur, the pop duo who won the first edition of Destination Eurovision and who came 13th with «Mercy», a song dedicated to the tragedy of migrants and sung last yar at the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest held in Lisbon.

For Bilal, «we are all kings, we are all queens». At the end of his performance, he said he had dreamed of Eurovision «since childhood». The competition was tough during the show, as the young artist competed with Chimène Badi who finished third, singer Emmanuel Moire, who came fourth, and Seemone, the singer revealed in this final where she is ranked second.
