King Mohammed VI chairs in Marrakech council of ministers

King Mohammed VI chaired, Thursday at the royal Palace in Marrakech, a council of ministers, says a statement by spokesman of the royal Palace, Abdelhak Lamrini.

The Council of ministers adopted two draft decrees relating to military matters, notably the implementation of the provisions of law 44-18 on military service.

King Mohammed VI has given his high instructions to increase the number of conscripts to 10,000 in the current year, before raising this figure to 15,000 in the coming year.

The King has appointed a number of walis and governors to the territorial and central administration. He has also appointed several ambassadors. They are:

Ahmed Rahhou, ambassador of HM the King to the European Union;

Hassan Tariq, ambassador of HM the King to the Republic of Tunisia;

Mohamed El Basri, ambassador of HM the King to the Netherlands;

Mustapha Benkhiyi: ambassador of HM the king to the Kingdom of Bahrain;

Imane Ouadil, ambassador to the Republic of Ghana;

Youssef Slaoui, ambassador to Burkina Faso.

Abdelfettah Lebbar, ambassador to the United Mexican States;

Abderrahim Atmoun, ambassador to the Republic of Poland;

Mohamed Achkalou, ambassador to the Republic of Finland.

On the proposal of the head of government and on the initiative of the minister of Economy and Finance, the King has appointed:

Dounia Taarji, chairwoman of the executive board of the Hassan II Fund for economic and social development.

Abid Amrane, director general of the Ithmar al Mawarid Fund, which was called the Moroccan tourism development Fund.

Also, on the proposal of the head of government and on the initiative of the minister of Industry, Investment, Trade and the Digital Economy, the King has appointed Sidi Mohamed Idrissi Meliani, director general of the digital development Agency.
