Moroccans living in Australian state Queensland met on Sunday in Gold Coast, a city Australia’s east coast, to launch their own association.

Members of the Moroccan community in Australia stressed the importance of creating an association that would be tasked with bringing them together, and hosting sports and cultural events.

The initiative is aiming at sharing the experience of the people who have been living in the Australian state for years.

During this gathering, Moroccans living in Australia stressed the need of organizing Arabic language classes for their children to keep them connected to their Moroccan identity and heritage.

For the record, Australia is home to 8,000 Moroccan nationals, who are mainly living in Sydney and Melbourne.
