In Iceland, the Polisario Front is leading a delegation, headed by its Secretary-General, to expose its separatist stands. After being received by the Icelandic Prime Minister Katrin Jakobsdottir on Wednesday, Brahim Ghali, accompanied by Mohamed Yaslem Bissat and Abdati Bayra, two members from the Front’s secretariat, visited Iceland’s parliament in Reykjavik.

According to the Front’s press agency, Brahim Ghali was received by MPs from the Icelandic parliament. This visit was an opportunity for him to «address the recent developments of the Western Sahara conflict (…) and encourage Icelandic MPs to put and end to human rights violations in the Sahara».

During this meeting, Brahim Ghali made mention of the decision, adopted in 2014, by the Icelandic parliament, and which «incited the country’s government to recognize the right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination».

In the Nordic island nation, Ghali held talks with the members of the «association of friends of the Sahrawi people» established in Iceland, SPS concluded.

It is worth mentioning that Iceland doesn’t recognize SADR and that Brahim Ghali was received in Iceland, only as a Secretary-General of the Polisario Front.

For the record, meeting the Icelandic Prime Minister, comes after the Polisario Front has been trying to get the support of some European countries. Earlier in March, a delegation from the Tindouf camps visited the republic of Ireland and was received by its president.
