Morocco is one of the three countries that top CNN Travel’s list of the 25 most beautiful places around the world. Celebrating Earth Day, CNN made a list, ranking Uganda’s Bwindi forest first, Kenya’s Samburu second and Morocco’s Mount Toubkal third.
«At 4,167 meters, Mount Toubkal lays claim to the title of ‘the roof of North Africa’», wrote CNN travel, commenting on its ranking.
«The path to its summit zigzags across empty valleys, past holy shrines and up steep snowfields before emerging onto a ridge that falls away to give climbers unrivaled views across the Atlas Mountains. It's a peaceful world away from the buzz of nearby Marrakech».
CNN Travel’s ranking included other destinations from around the world. However, Morocco, Kenya and Uganda were the only African countries that made it to the list of the most beautiful places on earth, according to the travel platform.
For the record, Mount Toubkal is the highest summit in North Africa. Located south of Marrakech, Toubkal is a popular destination among mountaineers.
