Morocco to increase the salaries of civil servants in public administrations

The new social agreement signed Thursday evening in Rabat between the government, three trade union confederations and Morocco’s Employers Association (CGEM) stipulates a general increase in the salaries of civil servants in public administrations, local authorities and employees of public administrative institutions.

The agreement provides for a monthly increase of 500 dirhams net for scales 6, 7, 8, 9 and for grades 1 to 5 of scale 10. This increase consists of paying MAD 200 from May 1, 2019, MAD200 in January 2020, and MAD100 in January 2021.

The new social agreement also stipulates a net increase of 400 dirhams for civil servants with grade 6 and above on scale 10.

Under this agreement, this increase will be paid on the basis of MAD200 from May 1, 2019, MAD100 in January 2020 and MAD100 in January 2021.

In addition, the new document provides for a rise in family allowances of MAD100 for each child up to a maximum of three children, and an increase in the guaranteed minimum inter-professional wage (SMIG) by 10% over two years in the industrial, commercial and service sectors in the private sector as well as in the agricultural sector.
