The Marrakech judicial police arrested a 30-year-old Danish citizen who was the subject of an international wanted persons notice issued by his country's judicial authorities for alleged membership of a criminal gang and serious assault in connection with a settling of scores between criminal networks in Denmark.
Elements of the Marrakech police had arrested this Danish national on 11 May for his involvement in a case of fraud, identity theft, illegal entry into Morocco and forgery, said in a statement the national police (DGSN), adding that the investigations and pointing operation revealed that the suspect was the subject of an international wanted persons notice under a red notice issued by Interpol since 22 November 2018.
He was remanded in custody under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, according to the same source, adding that the competent Danish authorities had been informed of his arrest pending the review of the extradition procedure by the competent Moroccan judicial authorities.
This arrest is part of the strengthening of international cooperation mechanisms in the security field, the statement notes.
