Police arrest an Italian man suspected of being one of La Camorra’s bosses

Policemen arrested on Wednesday in Tangier a 56-year-old Italian national suspected of being one of the bosses of Italian mafia «la Camorra».

Suspected of committing criminal acts, including blackmail, violence, intentional homicide and international trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances, the Italian national was arrested on an international arrest warrant issued by Italian judicial authorities and an Interpol Red Notice, national police said in a statement.

The man has been remanded in custody pending the completion of investigations and examination of the extradition procedure to Italian judicial authorities.

The arrest is part of efforts made by Moroccan security services with a view to strengthening international cooperation in the fight against transnational organized crime.
