King Mohammed VI granted pardon to 107 Hirak detainees as Morocco is to celebrate Eid al-Fitr on Wednesday, MAP reported on Tuesday. The detainees granted pardon are those who did not commit crimes and serious acts.
The same source reveals that 60 of the detainees to be released are from Al Hoceima and were convicted because of the events that took place in the region, while 47 others are from Jerada.
In total 755 detainees were granted royal pardon. The list includes 11 prisoners who were convicted for terror-related offences and who participated to the Moussalaha «reconciliation», a program launched by the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) to deradicalize detainees.
