Oxford has its first cartoon festival thanks to a Moroccan artist

Living in the United States for a year and a half, visual artist Said Bouftass now runs the first cartoon festival in Oxford (Mississippi), scheduled for May 2020.

This first edition of the «animation and comics festival» was preceded by other similar initiatives in Morocco, launched since 2011 by the artist with the participation of public and private schools.

Born in Casablanca in 1963 and originally from Tafraout, Saïd Bouftass taught art history at Mohammed V University in Rabat, while working for schools of Fine Arts in Casablanca and Tetouan.
