On June 25 and 26, Jordan and Egypt will be participating to the Bahrain conference on the economic portion of the US Palestinian-Israeli peace plan, known as the «Deal of the Century».
In Cairo, the spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that his country will attend the meeting in Manama, France 24 reported. Egypt will send its Deputy Minister of Finance to Bahrain.
On the same day, Amman confirmed that it is also attending the Manama meeting. Jordan’s foreign ministry spokesman Sufyan al-Qudah told journalists that his country will send the secretary general to the finance ministry.
On the other hand, Morocco has not confirmed yet its presence. On Thursday, June 20, the government spokesperson Mustapha El Khalfi, said that «the position of the Kingdom of Morocco, related to its foreign policy, will be voiced by its institutions in the appropriate time and context», adding that «it is up to the government to determine the timing of such announcement».
On June 11, a White House senior official told Reuters that Jordan, Egypt and Morocco will be attending the meeting in Bahrain.
