Arab states, mainly from the Gulf, are said to be planning to sign a «non-belligerence agreement» with Israel. While a former Prime Minister of Qatar says that Morocco is reportedly one of the countries to sign the deal, Rabat refuses to break its silence on the matter.
Morocco’s head of government Saadeddine El Othmani has been trying to reassure Palestinians through a series of statements and declarations following Foriegn Affairs Minister's «Deal of the century» comments.
After it said that it appreciates the constructive peace efforts by the current US administration to reach a just, lasting, and equitable solution to the Middle East issue, Morocco promised to examine the details of the «Deal of the Century». Meanwhile, it reiterated its position on Al-Quds.
The Trump administration is betting on Morocco to drum up support for the US Palestinian-Israeli peace plan. The latter was at the heart of a «peace breakfast», attended by Jared Kushner, a Moroccan businessman and the vice-president of the Jerusalem Institute for Strategic Studies.
