Police arrest a man for alleged membership of terrorist group

The central Bureau of judicial investigations (BCIJ), under the general directorate of territorial surveillance (DGST) arrested, on Friday in the commune of Bni Chiker (Nador province), in coordination with the Spanish civil Guard, a 19-year-old individual subject of an international search warrant for alleged membership of a terrorist group.

Preliminary investigations revealed that this individual, imbued with extremist ideology, has been allegedly engaged in propaganda for the benefit of the «Daesh» group, by advocating its bloodthirsty acts, according to a BCIJ statement.

Investigations conducted by the security services of both countries have shown that the suspect has been working to develop his skills in the manufacture of explosives and to obtain firearms for use in large-scale terrorist operations in coordination with «Daesh» fighters active on the Syrian-Iraqi scene, the statement said.

The suspect will be brought to justice as soon as the inquiry is completed under the supervision of the competent prosecutor.
