India’s Nuberg EPC to help build a chlor-Alkali plant in Morocco

Indian project management firm Nuberg EPC was awarded and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract from Morocco’s Societe Chérifienne D'Engrais Et De Produits Chimiques (SCE).

The New Delhi-based firm will be building a chlor-Alkali plant at the Jorf Lasfar Industrial Park in El Jadida. The latter is expected to produce «caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, and sodium hypochlorite chlorine upon completion», Construction Week Online.

The Morocco plant, which will include bipolar membrane cell technology, will be delivered by the end of 2020. The Indian company will build said plant with the SCE Chemicals, the chairman and managing director of Nuberg Engineering AK Tyagi said.

Meanwhile, General manager of SCE Chemicals, Moutawakkil Abdelkebir stressed that the «chlorine derivatives produced from the plant would be used for disinfection and water treatment industrial processes».
