A loan agreement related to «Morocco Education Support Program» was signed Thursday in Rabat between Morocco and the World Bank Group.

Morocco Education Support Program, which is supported by a Program for Results (PforR) operation of US$ 500 million, is aimed at creating an enabling environment for quality preprimary education, enhancing teachers’ training and strengthening the education sector’s management capabilities and accountability along the education service delivery chain, said a statement by the ministry of Economy and Finance.

The agreement was initialled by minister of Economy and Finance, Mohamed Benchaaboun, and World Bank Maghreb Country Director, Marie Françoise Marie-Nelly. The program is part of the strategic partnership (2019-2024) between Morocco and the World Bank Group.

The World Bank Group has supported the sector of Education in Morocco through several investment projects, Benchaaboun said on this occasion, noting that this PforR will back Morocco's 2015–2030 Education Sector Strategic Vision.
