The construction works of the Adzopé Regional Hospital Center, 100 km north of Abidjan, entrusted to the Moroccan company Agentis were launched Saturday by Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara.
The construction of this new facility ($ 50 million) is part of the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding between Ivory Coast and Agentis.
The hospital, which will be built on a surface area of 10 hectares, will have a 200-bed capacity and will provide several medical services (surgery, paediatrics, gynecology…).
The facility will include three operating rooms, scanner rooms, a laboratory and an emergency department.
Speaking on this occasion, President Ouattara welcomed the construction of this new hospital, noting that the new facility «will fill a significant gap in our health system».
For his part, Agentis CEO, Adil Mesfioui, noted that this project as well as many other ones are part of a mutually beneficial South-South cooperation, as advocated by King Mohammed VI and President Alassane Ouattara.
The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of Ivory Coast first lady, Dominique Ouattara, Ivorian Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibay, Morocco’s ambassador to Abidjan, Abdelmalek Kettani, in addition to several members of the Ivorian government.
