Policemen arrested on Friday a foreign national holding an Israeli passport for his alleged links to a criminal network involved in the forgery of Moroccan identity documents and passports, which was dismantled last March.

According to preliminary information, the 52-year-old suspect could have obtained a national identity card and a Moroccan passport using forged documents, taking advantage of fraudulent procedures applied by the criminal network that was dismantled, national police said in a statement.

He is also the subject of a Red Notice issued by Interpol on January, 17, 2019, for his alleged involvement in several murders and an attempted murder as part of a settling of accounts between organized criminal networks, the source added.

The suspect has been placed in custody pending the completion of investigations.
