Spain : Abdellatif Hammouchi awarded Grand Cross of Order of Merit of Civil Guard

The Spanish government has decided to award the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Civil Guard to director general of National Security and director general of national Territory Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, says on Monday a publication of the Spanish Official Gazette.

The Council of ministers approved this distinction on the proposal of Interior minister, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, according to the same source.

The Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Civil Guard is the highest decoration of this institution.

Hammouchi had already been decorated by Spain with the «Honorary Cross of Police Merit with Red Distinction», one of the highest honors awarded to foreign personalities.
