Police arrest Russian national subject of international arrest warrant

Policemen arrested Tuesday at the Mohammed V international airport in Casablanca a Russian national, who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Belgian judicial authorities.

The man, who was arrested upon his arrival on board a flight from Turkey, was the subject of a Red Notice issued by Interpol over his conviction for his involvement in 2014 in an armed robbery in Bruges, Belgium, national police said in a statement.

He was placed on custody as part of the extradition procedure, while the Belgian authorities were notified of his arrest, according to the same source.
