Police at the central town of Chichaoua seized, in collaboration with their counterparts in Marrakech, 1.65 tons of chira on Thursday.

This quantity of drugs, suspected of being linked to international drug trafficking networks, was seized at the entrance to the town of Chichaoua on board a truck registered in Morocco and driven by a 36-year-old individual, according to a statement by the national police (DGSN), noting that a pneumatic boat that would be used in maritime traffic was also seized during this operation.

The suspect was held in police custody to complete the inquiry conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office to clarify the ins and outs of this case, which is part of security services intensive efforts to combat international trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, the same source adds.
