The Health Ministry launched an initiative to provide free medical care in public hospitals for children under five who are suffering from cancer.
The initiative is in line with the directives of king Mohammed VI to harmonize national laws with international conventions on Human rights, particularly those relating to the rights of the child, said the health department in a statement.
The Ministry decided to institutionalize the free treatment for cancer children under five who do not have any medical coverage under the compulsory health insurance (AMO).
The ministry called for taking the necessary and appropriate measures to facilitate free access to preventive and curative health care, and to fully support this category of children with cancer, including in outpatient hospitals and intensive care.
In order to ensure the proper implementation of this initiative, the health department invited regional and provincial directorates and university hospital centers (CHU) to take the necessary measures to institutionalize free medical care for those children.
