The Tantan judicial police brigade foiled, early Thursday, an attempt to organize an irregular emigration operation and arrested 13 would-be emigrants, including ten from sub-Saharan African countries and three of Moroccan nationality.
The searches carried out as part of this security operation resulted in the seizure of a set of materials and equipment used in irregular emigration operations by sea, according to a statement by the national police (DGSN), specifying that it consisted of two inflatable boats, two motors and life jackets.
The would-be emigrants have been subjected to a judicial investigation under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, in order to elucidate the ins and outs of this case, the same source noted, stressing that research and investigations are under way with the aim of apprehending the instigators of this operation, involved in this criminal network.
This operation is part of the relentless efforts of the DGSN services to counter irregular emigration and trafficking in human beings.
