Morocco’s runner Al Mahjoub Dazza provisionally suspended by Athletics Integrity Unit

The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has provisionally suspended Moroccan marathon runner Al Mahjoub Dazza after he was suspected of using prohibited substance, Inside the Games reported on Wednesday.

The athlete’s name was featured, Friday, in a list that includes the latest cases that have been dealt with under the jurisdiction of, or overseen by, the Athletics Integrity Unit. According to the sports platform, AIU has found «anomalies in the in the 28-year-old's athlete biological passport (ABP)».

The decision comes as the Moroccan athlete won, last month, the Fukua International Open Marathon Championship in Japan.

Dazza holds Morocco’s national record for the marathon after «running 2 hours 5min 26 in Valencia in 2018». He is currently in the eighth position in the World Athletics men’s rankings.
